i updatedn firefox and it put a yahoo tool bar on my start page how do i get rid of it. i do not see anywhere to delete or uninstall the yahoo toolbar
i was in firefox doing something and i got a message stating that i needed to update firefox to 28 so l clicked and installed it. well it also installed a freaking yahoo annoying tool bar that i cannot delete. its not in my installed programs so i cannot delete from there. i tried right clicking on an empty space on the tool bar to see if i could get rid of it there and i cannot. can someone tell me how to get rid of it. or tell me how to go back to my previous version for firefox if that will get rid of it. otherwise i just might uninstalled firefox and then reinstall

hello, please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

thanks for the help. i did go into the add ons and i was able to disable it. very annoying how they place things you do not want on your homepage when update
yes this was probably a scam tactic that is trying to trick you into installing this unwanted toolbar!
please only download firefox from its official location at mozilla.org - in addition updates are handled internally by firefox so if any site suggests you'll have to download and run a .exe file in order to update, that will be fake (you can always initiate a check for updates manually in firefox > help > about firefox).
Yes no version of Firefox for any OS from mozilla org comes with the Yahoo toolbar.
Either you may have installed the Firefox version from https://downloads.yahoo.com/firefox or a software added the toolbar during a install for example.
