Can an animated file (gif) be inserted into an email, or must it be attached?
Can an animated gif file be inserted in an email? This is something that worked when I was using Outlook 2003, but does not work in Outlook 2010. Does Thunderbird allow a fully animated gif file within an email, or only as an attachment>

Yes, you can! You can add an image in-line using the button near the smiley button. This also works for GIF.
Problem NOT solved.....I inserted the gif image in-line, but it is no longer animated.
