my emails were coming in by current time and date now they are mixed with other older emails and I have to search for them . What can I do to resolve this?

You can look at the column headers and see which one has a small pointer on it. ▼ It may be pointing up depending on the sort order you selected. ▲ This is the header you have clicked and told Thunderbird to sort on.
Click on the header labeled DATE to sort by date. Click DATE a second time if you want to reverse the sort order.
