That is strange. Usually a unique id (GUID) doesn't spell out recognized words. Is it possible you have a custom build of Firefox that intentionally makes it harder to identify telemetry data from an individual installation of Firefox?? If it was installed from your repo instead of from Mozilla's website, there might be some documentation on what was intentionally changed.

I honestly don't remember which method was used for the install. What would you suggest? Re-install using the Mozilla's website? I guess I would need to totally purge firefox but I'd like to keep my passwords and bookmarks.

I'm not sure it's worth changing your flavor of Firefox just over this. If you find out from Ubuntu people why it has that strange GUID, I'd be curious to know.

Contributor McCoy sent me a link indicating that the c0ffee GUID is a default value that should be replaced with a unique GUID in normal releases. However, if you have Telemetry disabled, then the value might stay unchanged. I don't understand the Canary_client_id response. Perhaps someone could tease the meaning out of the reference for me? Is the poster suggesting the code associated with those links should enlighten me as to my problem? Is my UID considered a Canary_client_id and if so, what exactly does that mean?

Please help me decipher the response.
