Sometimes, when I close a pop-up or a window, I automatically get this little pop-up: http://i.imgur.com/YQeW6.png

Saving tabs is useful when I actually close Firefox and want to save my tabs, but I don't understand why Firefox randomly decides to "close" and ask me if I want to save my tabs all the time.

It also happens every time I open this link: http://kingscollege.blackboard.com/webct/logonDisplay.dowebct?insId=20830&glcid=137.73.2.51-1103039060259-2000821000&insName=Kin (my uni's blackboard)

Help? Anything I can tweak in about:config?

As far as your first issue, sounds like an incompatible extension might be causing that false "tab closing" message.

Use the Browser Check link under Check Your Browser Settings on the login page that you posted, to see what Blackboard says is and isn't compatible.

As far as Blackboard / WebCT, I don't believe they have certified Firefox 4.0 as being compatible with their software yet. Changes to the Blackboard software usually aren't made until the summer each year, plus not very school runs the latest version of Vista or Campus Edition.
