I attempted to go to my email and discovered there is no icon on my desktop for firefox. it just disappeared from my system. what happened and what do I do?

I assume this is on Windows?

If you go to the Start menu, search box or Run box, and type or paste the following, then press Enter, does Firefox come up? 

firefox.exe

If that works, you might just need to create a new shortcut on the desktop for Firefox. One way would be to go into the Start menu > All Programs, find Mozilla Firefox, right-click > Copy it, then on the desktop, right-click>Paste to copy the shortcut there.

Or if you mean you want a shortcut directly to your email website, there's a different way to do that (more info if needed).
