I pasted a screen shot into an email, is there a way to crop it inside of Thunderbird or do I need to do that in another program, and then copy it from that program and paste it into my email.

Chosen solution

cropping is done outside of Thunderbird, as it is with all mail programs really. Some offer editing tool that hide parts of the image, but they do not readily crop. It can be a bit of a shock to find the image you send really contains all of the image to those in the know.

Simply open paint. Paste the image and use cut to cut the part of the image you want and paste that into the email.
