My address book has a lot of different ones listed so when I do a search for a name I have to look in each which is a pain. Some are called:

uuu tim/contacts tim/contacts/old contacts tim/contacts/sellers tim/contacts/prospects tim/GAL

If I go to these and delete a name, it reappears when I reopen Thunderbird. The delete option is gray and not selectable. How can I delete these and the names in them???????

I'm having trouble understanding where you see the convoluted path above. Thunderbird doesn't expose the paths to address book files. Are you saying this is the name of an address book?

And it doesn't generate such paths or names itself, so it looks as if something or someone else has been at work here. ;-)
