How long must the junk emails stay in junk folder.

more options

I understand the way Thunderbird automatically moves the emails into my Junk folder if it thinks it's junk, or if I mark it as Junk.

My question is: Once in the Junk folder, do they have to stay there forever, or a certain number of days or months for the learning process to take place, or can they be deleted straight away?

Cheers Phill.

Read about junk controls here.

It says you do not need to store the junk after marking them.
