Firefox crashes/no connection unless I launch from command prompt.
This problem started a few days ago. When I launch firefox using start menu or desktop icon, I can't search for any website or directly connect to any site (google, facebook, etc.) When I close firefox, it crashes. When I try to start firefox again, sometimes it crashes, but the issue still persists.
Each time it crashes, I receive no option to submit the crash report to Mozilla (except once). The ID of that one time is: Crash ID: bp-77b5151c-2e07-4167-b0b5-472842160201
Facts: This issue also persists in safe mode. Issue persists when disabling all extensions. Issue persists when disabling all plugins. I have ran a virus scan (no issues). Uninstall/reinstalled firefox. Removed firefox from windows firewall and added it again. Deleted cache/temporary files via firefox and CCleaner. I use the default firefox theme.
I am also able to connect to websites in Chrome and IE.
So the weird part: When I launch firefox using command promp (with or without optional url argument), firefox is able to make a valid connection to the website. I can then use it perfectly.
Any ideas out there?

To be more exact on the solution, I had to disable protected mode in the flash plugin.
Set dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode to true.
