PassIFox add-on stopped populating login fields since firefox 49
Until FF 49 I, and I guess many others, have been happily using the KeePass software connecting to Firefox with the PassIFox add-on to remember passwords for site logins.
Since v 49 this is now only partially working and instead of automatically populating a login a right click and menu option is required.
Also, even if the credentials are already stored in KeePass Firefox now generates a do you want to remember dialogue everytime.
It seems that Firefox is no longer playing nicely with at least this password manager.

This does not sound like an issue with Firefox itself, but an add-on that you have installed.
Add-ons are created by a large community of independent developers. The developer for the add-on that you are using is the best person to contact for help and support with their software. You can find their contact details by clicking on their name on the page that you downloaded the add-on from.
Although I take the point in general, it does seem that the development team for Firefox have imposed changes to the login handling with little warning and that has broken previously stable and functional add-ons.
So it is possible that the updated login handling has introduced problems that might best be addressed at the Firefox end before the add-on gets involved.
I'm not sure I think this is resolved but I accept that it is a question for discussion.

While I understand your point-of-view, it is also correct the Mozilla developers are introducing poorly or undocumented changes and messing-up with extensions used by a large number of users. And is doing that with a high frequency.
The Firefox 49 messed-up with part of passifox functionality and there are reports firefox 51 is messing-up with the remaining functionality. And there is just a small FF 49 release note:
Updated Firefox Login Manager to allow HTTPS pages to use saved HTTP logins. It’s one more way Firefox is supporting Let’s Encrypt and helping users transition to a more secure web.
Instead to help for a more secure web, by disabling passifox is pushing the users exactly to the oppose direction.
