I'm using version 52.3 and I've been trying to download the offline installer of version 56, but the server will only serve version 52.4.
I don't have a good connection and need to be able to download the full installation file so that I can back it up. Currently I am using version 52.3 and have connected to https://download.mozilla.org where the latest version is given as 56.0.2-SSL. When I mouseover the link, it shows https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-56.0.2-SSL&os=win&lang=en-GB as the target, yet when I click to download it, it only serves 52.4. I am using Windows 32, not 64. Would that make a difference?

hello, you appear to be using windows xp - firefox 52esr is the last version that's made available and will run on that operating system: Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista

Hi Philipp, and thanks. Yes, I suspected that might be the issue. I really need to change over to Windows 7 - I have it on disk - but the problem is that I need to find the time and back up all the data I have on my machine, of which there is a lot, and it's all critical.
Damn. Looks like there's no way around it.
