Old POP and new IMAP using same email account

Way back when IMAP support was added to Thunderbird, I added IMAP using the same account and credentials. I now need to migrate Thunderbird to a new computer. I believe my setup will fail as is currently provisioned. Is this correct? If so, I will need to move a fair number of folders containing saved emails from my old POP account to my IMAP account before migrating.

I don't understand why you think it's inevitable that your set up will fail - moving profiles from one computer to another should work. The methodology is here:
