Disable an account
Hello, I would like to disable an IMAP account, i.e. put the account offline. I have seen the following suggestion : going into server parameters and unchecking the 3 boxes : check emails on startup, check emails every x minutes, enable notifications when new emails arrive. But this doesn't work when I click on "check new emails". I need this because the connection of this account currently doesn't work and a connection window pops up each time I check for new emails, which I want to avoid until the problem is resolved, without having to delete the account from Thunderbird. In many mail clients there is an option to disable an account, but I didn't manage to find it in Thunderbird. How to do this ?

The best way is to keep the account in a separate profile. If all 3 boxes are unchecked, you might still have TB trying to connect to IMAP accounts for some providers. When you 'check new emails' are you checking all accounts or just the active accounts? Right-click the cloud icon in the Folder Pane Header to check specific accounts.
