Using the FILE, NEW, menu and selecting the option 'add e-mail account' results in a screen which says Set Up Your existing e-mail account. Presumably this is a simple error which should say Adding a new e-mail account? or is it?? I'm trying to set up a new e-mail account on a windows 10 PC

You have to have an existing email account to set it up on TB. If you didn't have an email account, you couldn't set TB up. Many people think that they make an email account with TB - you have to have an existing account before this can be done.

It's not really an error, what Thunderbird says there is technically correct, but the wording used by Thunderbird is confusing because "mail account" refers to the mail account on the server, but it can also be easily (mis)understood as meaning the account set up in Thunderbird to get access to that account on the server.
