The MozillaZine KB article on uninstallation also contains instructions for manual uninstallation (deleting files and profiles): MozillaZine - Uninstall Firefox - On Windows

I hope this helps you clean it out properly - if not, just ask and we'll help with further suggestions.

Try reinstalling firefox under the standard mode. Then you might be able to uninstall it completely if you want. There may be bug, just not sure if it's in custom mode or firefox in general.
