I have lost connection to HP c4780 printer. It seems to have happened after updating firefox. Connecting laptop directly by usb to printer works.

Hi,

If the installed Firefox is from a legitimate source and if the OS is secure, you can be fairly confident that Firefox wouldn't and cannot change OS network settings and hardware settings. Please also see this regarding a similar issue.
