Firefox crashes
Firefox started crashing frequently after upgrading to version 29.0. It may be related to an add-on or EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit from Microsoft, Enforcing Security Settings like ASLR, DEP etc.)
I am willing to debug this problem, and I think I can assist in this process as I work as a computer professional, so please contact me if you need any additional information.
PS: At least until version 28 Firefox did run fine with this add-on and EMET combination, so it might very well be _not_ related to any extension or EMET.
Sometimes Firefox even crashes right after starting it, before I see the first screen.
Here are some of the most recent crash IDs all with firefox 29.0.1: bp-6040b082-b5be-4132-aa35-53d792140603 bp-58057290-b7ef-4ab9-bbe2-6337b2140603 bp-39c326d4-33b6-481b-bf15-373552140602 bp-10bd046b-8e58-4eef-865d-985802140525 bp-9bf0e18e-0bb2-4f82-a911-5c4ed2140520 bp-1012754d-943a-473f-9168-3feb22140519

Hi Sven,
Sorry you have crashes, and yes anything you can add to assist in tracking this down will help.
Try in safe mode and with all plugins disabled does that prevent Firefox crashing ?
- Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
- Disable or remove Add-ons#w_how-to-disable-plugins
- If Firefox crashes in that configuration please provide a couple more Crash IDs.
- If you can run Firefox without crashing, what are the minimum changes that need to be made so that crashes are observed ?
and again another couple of Crash IDs please.
Are you able to discover and provide Steps To Reproduce (STR) ?
If so you are part way to being able to file a bug report for the issue.
Possibly you will be able to show Firefox only crashes with a particular add on or only with microsoft EMET
N.B. I have not personally made any attempt to see if this could be a situation where a bug report is already written. That is easier to do once you are able to describe STR & as the person observing the problem and suffering the crashes you can probably do that better than I can anyhow.
I have not listed all Crash signatures and related bugs. I note one is security related [bug 957006] so you could be running into a known issue that is not being discussed openly.
