Thuderbird asks me to change settings to download emails
When opening thunderbird or clicking on the get mail button I am now getting the message: "The POP3 mail server (mail.btopenworld.com) does not support UIDL or XTND XLST, which are required to implement the "leave on server" etc options. Turn off the option in server settings. Another email account on the same PC is not giving this message, but has identical settings. I really want to leave the emails on the server, not delete them on download. I tried making the change and was then able to download emails. I then changed the setting back and thunderbird worked OK for some days, but now the message has come up again. Thunderbird has been working for a long time without producing this message. Any idea why the sudden change and how I can get back to downloading emails without removing them from the server?

what happens if you disable your anti virus email sacaning component?
Hi Matt, Tried that but didn't change the outcome. Still keeps wanting me to use settings to delete emails from server when downloaded.
Allows me to return settings to keep email copies on server and download, but at next download insists that the setting should be to delete server copies on download.
Other accounts on the same PC with the same email service provider work fine!
