Do you think it is cool to kill the status bar?
I have been a HUGE fan of Firefox and have been using it since years. The only reason why I loved using firefox was because it allowed users to have more control over their browsing. However, a few recent changes have made me believe that FF is going the IE route.
Tell me one good reason to kill the status bar! I don't see a reason why you should've killed the status bar completely. You could've allowed people to either stick on to the add-on bar or stick with the old status bar but you've completely killed it.
Status bar was one of the most important tools on my browser and allowed me to quickly use my add-ons. May I ask why are you going the IE route? Why did you remove it? Was it giving any problem?
Why don't you ask users before slaughtering the useful tools? Can't tell you how annoyed I am because I can't get access to my favorite tools now. Thank you for adding frustration to my job.

The StatusBar has been dead since Firefox 4, when it was replaced by the Add-on Bar. The Add-on Bar was removed in Firefox 29.
This add-on restores the Add-on Bar. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/the-addon-bar/
So you want me to install more add-ons to fix the nonsense created by your team for no good reason?
Why did you remove the status bar? Was it giving any problems? I want the status bar back, too much to ask for?
I understand people are volunteering their time to help others and appreciate that fact. However, my grudge is not with those who are helping. My grudge is with the FF team who's kicking things around for desktop users.
A simple solution would've been, remove the status bar "by default" for different user segments (desktops, tablets, mobile devices, etc) but should've allowed to add it at the user's discretion.
Removing a "good feature" completely is like depriving a big chunk of user segment from that feature. How is that justifiable? Fine, if the FF team wishes to focus on mobile users but are they fine to afford losing all the desktop users? You support this ideology? Anyone?
