We use, with my wife, two thunderbird profiles. Sometimes we want them to run simultaneously so we launch thunderbird with -no-remote parameter. Unfortunately this parameter, when firefox is already launched and when we try to open link from email in thunderbird, causes "Firefox is already running [...]" error. This is really annoying beacuse we need to manuallly copy-paste the link into the firefox. I googled a lot trying to find a solution. I even found that there is a bug in mozilla's bugtracker here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382477 Unfortunately I haven't found anything that could help. If there is no official solution for this could you post a workaround for this?

Note that only one of you need to use the -no-remote command line switch to open a second instance if Thunderbird is already running. There is no workaround other than using copy and paste or drag a link on empty on the tab bar or its new tab (+) button or possibly on the location bar.
