As soon as I click "Customize", the upper right side of my browser is cutoff. I can't access or make any edits because the editable options and buttons are pushed out of view to the far right.

It would be nice to see a screenshot when Customize isn't open, and see a listing of which extensions you have installed. Also, I wonder if Classic Theme Restorer is up-to-date

Does it make a difference when you Maximize the window?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thanks for your reply & suggestions. Doesn't make a difference when window is maximized. Funny thing is I use dual 27" LCD's. When I drag the right side of the open browser window all the way across the 2 LCD's, I can see everything while in "Customize" mode.

I am using Default theme, thanks.

This just keeps getting worse and worse; I added the 3 line Menu button to my toolbar. Nothing happens when I click on the menu. Nothing. I sure do miss FF 28 right about now, lol.

Updating to v34. 0.5 fixed the 3-line menu glitch.

Glad the update to 34.0.5 fixed the menu button glitch.

Thanks for posting a screenshot of your list of themes earlier. It would be very helpful if you could do the same for your installed extensions.

We think an extension you have installed could be what's causing the issues - so a full list would be very helpful.

Thanks!

IMO, too many extensions and too many UI customizations! Just looking to create problems ... And I do use a good number of extensions myself, just a different "mix".

My guess is that you have some extensions installed that "don't play well" with the Classic Theme Restorer extension. Extensions made for the default theme and default UI may not work too well with an extension like CTR which has so many "retro" bits of code added to the "base" Firefox. Which is why I decided early on not to succumb to the allure of CTR. Prior poor experiences with "retro" or "restorer" type extensions after earlier major UI changes in Firefox. I stuck with UserStyles or userChrome.css changes to the UI to make it "useable" for my purposes.

So what you're saying is that all of the above extensions, (sans CTR of course), worked fine with FF 28, but they'll choke anything > FF 28?

No, I'm not saying that. It's not a Firefox 28 vs later versions thing. Chances are some of those "other" extensions have been updated specifically for Firefox 29+ and aren't exactly the same as they were in Firefox 28. While others didn't need any updating for Firefox 29+.

Not everyone of your other extensions is liable to be compatible with Classic Theme Restorer. Extension developers job is to make their extension compatible with the "as shipped" Firefox, but when you introduce an extension like CTR that does massive changes to the basic Firefox or uses "retro" code, other extensions may bring about visual glitches or may not work "as designed" with CTR installed.
