Problems often solved by re-boot; have already gone through the "corrupt trash folder" procedure, which worked but not permanently. Forgot to mention that message filters also stop working. Things seemed to change with an update of TB a few days ago.

Correction: it was TB 31.3 that malfunctioned, not 33.1 as originally posted. 31.2 seems fine at this point.
