Unable to check Plugins since updating to 35.0
When I go to "Tools" then click on "Add-Ons" then click "Plug-Ins" and then click on "Check To see If Plug-Ins Are Up To Date" it goes to Mozilla Check Your Plug in Page all it does is sit and spin at the "Checking with Mozilla on the status of your plugins." I am using Win7 Pro and just downloaded Firefox update to 35.0.

hi joe, as flash is currently getting blocklisted and presumably many hundred thousands of users trying to update their plugin this way there were/are load issues on the mozilla plugincheck-page. the web developers at mozilla are aware of this and working to fix it! people who see this thread and need to update flash can also do so manually by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html & installing version 16.0.0.296...
Thank you for your update in this matter. I disabled my Java programs and checked the update page and it now completely loads so I can see which Add Ons need updating so I have completely removed Java from my computer. Thanks to the web developers at mozilla for fixing this and again for your update.

Check This again in Safe Mode of Firefox . Due to some glitches it not works. However Virus protection is curse sometime , so off the Antivirus and Run again the Plug-in check .

Been there done that and this is a recurring problem every time Firefox does a major update.
Click the red "block" in the left side of the URL bar and see what it says.
I noticed with this Firefox 35 update (or just recently date wise) that the Plugin Check page wants to use the Java Deployment Toolkit for something on the Plugin Check page. IMO, that's silly because Mozilla has blocked all versions of the Java Deployment Toolkit due to security issues from being automatically activated

I did as you suggested and did a screen shot of the result so you can see what it says. I agree with you that this is crazy since Mozilla has blocked all versions of the Java Deployment Toolkit due to security issues from being automatically activated. Hopefully Mozilla will see this as the problem and correct it.
This may have been updated: I get an infobar indicating that Java was blocked, but all the non-disabled plugins (except OpenH264) show up on the page anyway.

I have not seen any update. I am still getting the same thing that I posted in the screenshot above where the page is looking for Java that Mozilla has blocked due to security issues. I even activated it to see if that would make a difference and it did not. I immediately deactivated Java just like when Mozilla did it. This same problem has happened before when Firefox was updated to version 30.0 and 32.0 in the past. I have no idea nor was I informed what was done to fix those two past problems.

I installed the latest version of Java (see screen shot) and I can now access the screen to see if my plugins are up to date.

I agree with you. I am not going to mark this as solved yet because I would like the powers that be read this and find out why I had to download Java Platform to get this to work. I am also posting another screenshot of the plugin page post Java Platform Download and with the message after I clicked on the red square.
Go to the plug-in page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left click the icon. A window for displaying site information should come up. Select More Information. Now select Permissions. In the menu, find the plugins, and set all of them to Always. This action will only effect that one site. Now reload the page.

This does not solve the problem as to why anyone would even have to do this to begin with. Firefox is preventing Java Deployment Toolkit from running and if you read above the complete discussion Java Platform was downloaded in order for this to work. I am still keeping this problem open and "not" solved so a Mozilla Analyst can take a look into this and report a proper solution when it is found.

Mozilla has a somewhat major overlooked or goofed code on their hands with this one...
With FF 35.0.1 (on Windows 7 64bit OS)...
Updated Java to latest, re-started all, allowed the "insecure" Java, re-loaded the Add-Ons > Plugins and we STILL can NOT access the screen to see if my plugins are up to date.
A great waste of time worrying and trying to get this oft-used function to work again.
Problems like this should really NOT have passed thru QC and final testing, nor gotten past Mozilla's many otherwise excellent Beta and field testers.

my plug ins check started working again after about 2 hours from when I noticed it had stopped doing so. I can only assume, therefore that perhaps the problem was a busy server at Mozilla and not a fault as such.

Thank you for the update, although I never encountered trouble updating Flash to xx.xx.296...at least none that presented itself to me, I should note that I usually update Flash manually.
It was the matter of Add-Ons > Plugins where I were not able to complete the usually fast process to see if my plugins are up to date.
The Good News: At this time. all is now working properly -- all aspects of Add-Ons > Plugins are working on the three computers in use here, and I sincerely appreciate both your and Mozilla's attention and discussion to this now previous problem.

I had this problem a few days ago but it cleared up seemingly by itself. You could try updating FF as the latest version is 35.0.1.
