After the 2nd attempt to uninstall and reinstall, I deleted the Mozilla Firefox directory and ran Firefox Setup 35.0.1.exe again:

The directories/files that Firefox Setup 35.0.1.exe created in Program Files (x86) were:

 - browser/extensions/{a numeric key}.xpi
 - plugins/npMeetingJoinPluginOC.dll, plugins/nppdf.dll
 - tobedeleted/ nsb8671.tmp, and 13 more files of this form

The Setup process is 7z Setup SFX (32 bit) is hung according to the Windows Task Manager.

I deleted the hung process(es), deleted the Mozilla Firefox directory and tried to run Firefox Setup 35.0.1.exe again. The result is a hung process 7z Setup SFX (32 bit) and no Mozilla Firefox directory was created.

Now running Firefox Setup 35.0.1.exe results in just a hung process, no directory of files are created.
