How do I stop Firefox from syncing to my iOS tablet
i want to stop Firefox syncing with my iPad. Every time I use Firefox on my PC it messes up the bookmarks I have on iPad. The latest PC Firefox update wiped them out all together on the iPad! I am now fearful of using Firefox on the PC. How do I prevent this from happening in the future?

Found it! It was an iCloud Bookmarks extension. Disabled that and now no sync. Thanks for the help.

Firefox Sync occasionally has problems with syncing bookmarks. That is most likely on a slow connection, or when there are a lot of changes. You should not become over-reliant on Sync's bookmarks and I would recommend always having manaul backup if you use Sync for that.
Remember Sync will now only merge, there is no directional option. If you opt to Sync bookmarks it will try to make the pc & tablet listing identical. You may turn off Sync on the Tablet or just the bookmarks sync. See

It has been a long time since Firefox Home was available for iOS devices. https://blog.mozilla.org/services/2012/08/31/retiring-firefox-home/ http://website-archive.mozilla.org/www.mozilla.org/firefox_home/en-US/mobile/home/faq/
How are you even getting that iPad connected to the Sync service? Unless you are still using the old version of Firefox Sync.
That old Firefox Home application isn't compatible with the current Sync version 1.5 which came out with Firefox 29 in April 2014.
As John mentioned, Unlink that device from Sync. I can't give you specifics about how to do that in Firefox Home, other than to say look for it in Preferences.
I don't know how it's doing it either. I can't even remember switching it on! I've signed in to the new Sync. I've unticked everything except passwords. However, iPad Safari is still being affected. Tested it by moving one of my bookmarks. I've looked in the Options menu for a mention but only found the Sync sign in. Thanks for the help but I'm now getting extremely frustrated with this.

Thanks Ed, I was even wondering if iOS support had been re-introduced without me noticing.
- I guess the update link may be useful Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more that does include unlinking advice.
Great. I will mark that as the solution. Thanks for posting back.

I should apologise as this was not a Firefox issue at all. Just those nice people at Apple trying to be helpful!
