Good day to you all,

I'm running Window 7 (64-bit) and I downloaded, installed the 64bit version of Thunderbird (or in my case: Daily).

I have all my user profiles (three) working quite well and the Daily program seems to be running as if I was using Thunderbird.

I have encounter a problem when I try to create a NEW message filter. Going to Tools -> Message Filters -> New gives me very strange screen, I've never encountered such before...

Entering a Filter name is not a problem. The next section is "Apply filter when:" and I check the boxes "Manually Run" and "Getting New Mail: Filter before Junk Classification" (leave "Archiving" and "After Sending" boxes uncheck), then I select "Match any of the following" AND then I find out there is no way I can enter any further data - such as From Sender, From EMail Address, Subject Line, etc., etc., and etc.

Has anyone encountered this problem and if so, how did you resolve it?

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Daily is not a codename but the name of one of four main development channels of Thunderbird.

Release, Beta, EarlyBird and Daily.

Firefox equivalent is Release, Beta, Aurora (Developer Edition) and Nightly.

There are threads about the Daily channel builds of Thunderbird at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=29

There is not even Win64 Firefox for Release yet though Firefox 38.0 may be the earliest in a first phase.

The Thunderbird community however do not have the same resources which is why Thunderbird Releases are being done in Extended Release Support fashion every seven versions.

Daily is a developer version. Yes there is a 64 bit windows version there, but it in not officially supported. Issues with the daily builds can be filed in Bugzilla for developer attention, but please search first. You issue may already be in there. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Unless you have a compelling reason to be using it I would suggest you use the 32bit version everyone else is using. One of the reasons there has been no concerted push to release a windows 64 bit version is that it effectively offers no performance or security improvements. It does however require more memory.

Thank you for your response, Matt. I thought that 32GB of memory would be sufficient...

I'll take your suggestion, delete Daily and install the 32bit version of Thunderbird.

Is there a timeline when the 64bit version of Daily is to be "officially" released?
