This afternoon, all of the emails in my inbox vanished. Where did they go and how can I get them back???????

I keep e-mails that I need to read in my inbox. Today, they all vanished into thin air. I also see a new folder called "archives" with a "2015" subfolder - but there is only one e-mail in the folder. I need my inbox contents!!!! Where could they be????
