I got an answer to a question, but it doesn't work
II have a folder whose number of "unread" messages keeps going up from about 450 to 489 at present. When I click on the quick-filter or just scan the folder, I find usually about the number of new messages I would expect. But once I have deleted them all, the folder is still showing about 489 unread messages. The answer I got was to right click on the folder name and click marker folder as unread. I did this and nothing happens, although this does work with other inbox folders. I'm willing to try just about anything. Thanks

When I thought about it, I realised that there were some subfolders that had unread messages. When I cleared them, I got the number to zero. Sorry for my stupidity.
