I work with a gmail account. How can I stop thunderbird from saving my sent messages twice?
Every email I send is saved twice in sent messages.

Gmail and a few other providers automatically place a copy in the sent folder. You need to go into Account Settings and tell Thunderbird not to.
Right click the gmail account in the left Folder Pane. Select Settings Go to Copies and Folders and uncheck When Sending... Place a copy in

Good day to you.
Seeing I do not use Gmail, or even have a GMail account on computer (Windows 7), how do I prevent the messages from being sent to Sent folder, as well as to Drafts folder?
Your help is urgently needed, as there is too much work in deleting more than 2 emails of the same ( more than 4!).
Why have autosave, if I do not wish to send to Drafts, or any other place at all?
Seems to me to be a waste of space on the database, as well as the Main Frame.
Anyway, your help in assisting me is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Paula
