I want to be able to sort the inbox mail by date. The older version that I used had a small button at the top of the inbox contents that I could press to change the sorting from the earliest or later date.

Click on the header labeled DATE.
Clicking any header sorts on that column. A small pointer appears on that header indicating that it is the sort. Click the same header a 2nd time to reverse the sort.
