Firefox crashes after 2 ca. minutes!
Tried everything! FF crashes after two minutes. No matter what version, no matter what site i am in, no matter safe mode or not, no matter if add-ons are enabled or disabled, no matter javascript is on or off. It just shuts itself down. It is happening after updating to 44.0.2. Any idea? papcon

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

hello, could you provide your latest few submitted crash reports? please enter about:crashes into the location bar, copy the latest few report ids from there starting with bp- & paste them here into a forum reply. this will give us a better understanding what may be triggering those crashes.
although FF is crashing permanently since the last 24hours i got only one fresh crash report https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-4079f317-439b-4139-a990-7d79b2160226
hm, that was a crash in the flash plugin - other than the recommendation to update your firefox AND flash version there is not much information to be gained from that report...
Update Firefox to the latest release https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/
its looks like it crashes without leaving traces! Is it possible that win 7 is responsible?
You can check for issues caused by plugins.
- set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the about:addons page (3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)
- plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and hardware acceleration in Firefox and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:
http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Windows Vista and later)
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/adobe-flash-protected-mode-firefox - disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html - disable hardware acceleration in Firefox

thanks!. I ll try it
After the above,
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
yes is still there
Update your Flash Player Version: 20.0.0.306
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer.
and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
Dear FredMcD, Thanks for helping! I followed your advice: Flash player runs the latest edition and I started the computer in safe mode with networking. I launched Firefox and is stable! If i exit safe mode will it be ok? Should I do something more? thanks one more time for helping!

You can give it a try.
When a computer is started in Safe Mode, only system programs are running.
If there is still a problem, disable your protection programs as a test.
With protection programs you mean Antivirus programs?
Yes, everything. Go only to safe websites.
It crashes again, deactivation of antivirus done nothing. surfed for 2-3 minuters in safe websites. Only safe mode helped,..
Do you have a few IDs of recent crash report that you can post?

That is another Flash hang.
I understand you do not get crashes in Windows Safe mode.
What happens if you use Windows ordinary start but both
- Firefox's safemode
- And with all plugins including FlashPlayer disabled ?
- Does that still crash every two minutes ?
- Does that give you crash reports ?
- Can you take a screenshot of the crash if you do not get a Crash ID
Or of course if you get a crash ID please let us have that.
P.S. I note you are not actually on Fx 44.0.2 you are still on an outdated beta and an outdated FlashPlayer. Philipp suggested you should update those in #answer-849639
Note that this is the same crash report as linked above.
I dont get any Crash Reports! FF simple shuts itself down. It's like somebody is hitting the x button on the upper right corner.
