Can't save attached mp3
Since the (recent) upgrade to 45.2.0, I have been unable to save .mp3 podcasts attached to items in my RSS feeds. None of the normal methods work any more:
* Right-click on the attached thing.mp3, select Save As * Click on the Save button at the right-hand end of the attachment pane * Message -> Attachments -> 1 Podcast title - Podcast name.mp3 -> Save As
In all cases, the body of the RSS feed item text is replaced with a player widget, and the mp3 is downloaded somewhere in the background. The player widget does work - I can click on the play button and hear the podcast - but I can't save it locally (for uploading to my phone).
Right-clicking on the player widget and selecting "Open message in containing folder" fails to open the file browser, Nautilus.
I have even tried changing the setting in Preferences -> Attachments, Incoming, MP3 audio to "Save File" without success.
In all cases (ie. all RSS feeds), I was able to save attached .mp3s locally on the previous version of TBird.
I have found a work-around, though it is painful:
1. Open the Nautilus file-browser 2. Drag-and-drop the attachment into my home directory. This creates a podcast-name.mp3.desktop file. 3. From the command-line:
$ cat podcast-name.mp3.desktop
4. Oh look! There's a URL, but it has quite a lot of stuff on the end, like this: &type=audio/mpeg&filename=... 5. Click-and-drag over the good bit of the URL, up to and including the first .mp3 6. Copy and paste the URL into Firefox 7. Save as. Tah-dah!

I just tested with this RSS feed, http://www.abc.net.au/news/feed/4636518/podcast.xml
A daily podcast from a state broadcaster, so boring, but safe. When I click in the attachments at the bottom to display the attachments then right click the MP3 file and select save as I get an MP3 file.
Note that while I do not know for sure, I understand the player is a part of the HTML5 specification.
The problem is not the feed. Just for the record, I subscribed to the feed you posted, and had exactly the same result - When I click in the attachments at the bottom to display the attachments, then right click the MP3 file and select save as ... the body of the RSS feed item text is replaced with a player widget. The player widget does work - I can click on the play button and hear the podcast - but I can't save it locally.
Easier work-around:
1. View, Message Source (or just type Ctrl-U)
2. The MIME attachment section at the bottom includes a URL to the .mp3 file on the server, eg. http://podcast.radionz.co.nz/ntn/ntn-20160818-1115-new_technology_with_robbie_allan-048.mp3
3. Copy and paste it into Firefox
4. File, Save Page As (or Ctrl-S)
