Why does it take two tries to get may home page websites to open?

I have Firefox set to open my home page, which consists of seven websites. When I first click on the Firefox icon on my desktop seven tabs open, but they are blank. If I close Firefox and click on the icon again, the correct seven pages open in tabs. It's a pain to have to open Firefox twice every time I want to use it.

Any suggestions?

Try this; next time, hold down the <shift> key and reload the page.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried holding down the shift key while clicking on the Firefox icon, but odd things happened. Once it wanted me to use Safe Mode. Once all tabs just said "New Tab." Once three of my tabs opened with my home page websites shown and the rest opened with "New Tab." While the three websites opened, they were not functional. Only after a second, or in one case third, try did Firefox open correctly.

Two thoughts:

I often get a message that part or all of a website is nonfunctional because BlockSite has it either on the black list or not on the white list. BlockSite is NOT an installed add-on in my Firefox.

Perhaps I should just reinstall Firefox from the Mozilla website. If I do that, how can I be sure that my bookmarks will not be lost?

I'm not sure that the fake BlockSite issue has to do with my installed Firefox program. Could it be caused by malware?

Thanks.

Firefox comes in two or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And one folder in the profile of each user on the computer.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user folders would not be affected.

Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac Linux: Check your user manual.

Do Not remove the profiles folder.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.
