New tab option is missing after update
Some time in the past month, after the previous update, my "New Tab" button is missing. I've tried disabling all add-ons, then tried uninstall/reinstalling Firefox. Nothing has helped. What do I do next?

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but some icons are locked in place.
There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.
Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.186

You may have accidentally removed button(s) from the Navigation Toolbar.
If you right-click a toolbar item in normal (non-customize) mode then you can remove this item from the toolbar.
- "Remove from Toolbar" will remove this item from the Navigation Toolbar and moves it to the Customize palette ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize)
- "Move to Menu" will move this item to the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list
- "Move to Toolbar" in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list will move this item to the toolbar
Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Customize
- if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window to the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button in the Customize palette window to restore the default toolbar set.

Thanks for your suggestion. When I type "about:customizing" in the address bar, it returns:
"The address isn’t valid The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded."
Thanks for the note on Flash. I updated the Flash plugin.

Without the quotes, yes?
Type about:about<enter> in the address bar to see a list of all about internal pages.
Right, no quotes. Still no "about:customizing". "about:about" returns the list in the attached screenshot. "about:customizing" is not listed among them.
The original problem (missing "New Tab") was fixed by selecting "Restore Defaults" from the customization menu.

Restore Defaults fixed the missing New Tab problem. Thanks for your help.
You're welcome
