see what happens when you launch firefox in safe mode, ie add-ons disabled.
I have tried with add ons disabled still the same , and when you come to open firefox again after it crashes it say it is already running and needs to close to restart.

Hi FredMcD I have got the page up with the list of unsubmitted crash reports. I am not PC wizard. If I click on error number it opens the report and I cannot see a submit button. If I try and highlight a selection of reports it will only allow copy
That is how the report gets submitted. Please do the same for 5-7 latest reports, then post the BP- numbers.
Hope this is right bp-2bc3d0fc-8f7f-4e3e-87c5-2d9350170723 bp-78caf115-35ef-4a02-973a-550c20170723 bp-90b10037-4a2d-4048-9b99-85bae0170723 bp-7e61d15e-4a7a-47fb-add1-cea7a0170723 bp-b6e200ef-875e-4990-8510-f9cdf0170723 bp-a5a48da5-b718-4fc4-a261-1455b0170723 bp-d970f5e2-5ae2-4bca-bb0b-fed7f0170723 bp-ee1ac0e6-25b6-43cb-ae44-c750a0170723 bp-1e9b5851-db7a-45e9-bd96-8d4b10170723 bp-10d4b37f-723d-4c64-9e5d-26b950170723 bp-aa4bef87-402b-41e2-99a0-441fe0170723 bp-3dc4f3e0-ee30-4444-8a11-803da0170723 bp-7e2c1c48-f535-4338-b0be-3463c0170723 bp-8184e521-ca18-4366-9e95-870a10170723 bp-34143199-5354-4c7a-99ee-907d10170723 bp-283c5245-20ff-40db-9917-696ed0170723 bp-439996b0-f8f6-45e0-b95c-7ba490170723 bp-3c749559-4cfb-4ef8-a194-83f900170723 bp-8d5243d9-9827-4edd-9b55-e1c720170723 bp-4abce9f2-1d92-4d25-a208-0ffc70170723

Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do Not remove the profiles folder.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
When multi-process windows in Firefox is enabled then Firefox will use more memory and may be less responsive.
You can try this to see if it has effect:
- set dom.ipc.processCount to 1 if it is currently set to a higher value (4)
- disable multi-process windows in Firefox
You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox by setting these prefs to false on the about:config page.
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
You can open the about:config page: via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Some FYI to include in your instructions: Using the task manager to shut down programs is more efficient than restarting windows to shut down a program, especially if there are more than an instance of the program running in memory and all of them need to be shut down, aka, end process.

How to crash Firefox (All Systems); Instructions here; https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/How_to_report_a_hung_Firefox
This link has a program that can crash Firefox.
I have re installed via your link a fresh firefox. It is still doing the same as before I have tried to start laptop in safe mode holding F8 down on start up. But for some reason I cannot get it to run in safe mode ?
you can manually start windows in safe mode while in the desktop.
click on start>run>msconfig
under boot tab there is an option box for invoking safe boot & networking.
then exit and do a reboot and safemode for windows will launch.
when you are done with safemode, execute the steps above by disabling safe boot & networking while in the safemode desktop.

Problem update Ran Firefox on pc in safe mode runs ok Put laptop back to normal mode And when I closed Firefox it crashed and said to send report and reopen the tabs that I had closed !
what you can next do is to launch normal windows without all the startups, like safe mode does.
click on start>run>msconfig
under startup tab, there will be a bunch of line items that designate and invoke specific programs to launch when windows does.
so if you uncheck them all, and then reboot, normal windows will start up similarly like safemode does.
then you can test out the browser to see if you get the same results as in safemode.
however, before rebooting after temporarily disabling the startups, jot them down on paper so you know which ones they were.
then to find out which one is causing the problem, enable one start up and reboot and test your browser. then enable the next startup, reboot and test your browser again. do this repeatedly until you find which startup is causing the problem for you.
incidentally, you are welcome to share the list of startups with us. that way we can see and probably tell you right away which ones are no good and should never be started up with windows.
let us know!
