Everytime I open firefox it crashes when I ethier go to a new tab or go to another webpage. Firefox used to work before perfectly fine but now I cant browse with it at all. I can not even acess the firefox settings. I have checked to see if there are any viruses, started the browser in safe mode. I also tried reseting the winsock which worked but then a little later it started crashing once again so I tried reseting the winsock again but it didnt work.

Hello! I have checked my drivers and there are no updates for it.

I cannot turn off hardware acceleration due to literally being unable to access the "options" menu as it freezes, then proceeds to crash.

I also cant access the "add ons" part in the menu to show you my plug-ins/extensions although im pretty sure I didnt install any anyways.

In otherwords my issue is still not solved.

Did you try safe mode?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

SafeMode-Fx35

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

I have tried safe mode multiple times and it still continues to crash.

Please see if the solution to this question helps. Either a full reinstall might help, or you can try resetting the font settings in Windows.

You could choose to move or remove the existing profile data and its cache folder manually as described there before uninstalling Firefox, or by using the Profile Manager and deleting the profile prior to uninstalling. Make sure to back it up first so you can easily restore important files afterwards. Personally I would skip the profile steps and try a reinstall first, then the font settings.
