firefox asking me if i want to save password even though i already clicked never save, it keeps asking every time i go to that site
I have many sites with saved password and firefox doesnt ask me if i want to save password, it works well. But for sites which I selected NEVER SAVE, it keeps asking me if i want to save every time i log on. How do i make it remember "NEVER SAVE"? Thanks

If you click "Save password" then the password is stored in the Password Manager. If you click never then you create a block exception for this website and this is covered by the Site Preferences, and you lose all sire specific data when you clear the sire preferences. Using clear history directly overrides any allow exceptions and removes everything in the selected time range, so you need to be aware of consequences when you use it.

HI, please give this a try : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
That sounds more problematic. I have too many things saved in order to uninstall. There should be a simple fix to this issue
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.
- do not clear the Site Preferences
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
[X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-browsing-search-download-history-firefox
- clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
- clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep
Thanks cor-el. I unchecked site preferences seems to work. I suspected it may have had to do with one of the marked or unmarked preferences in history. I dont have auto clear set but I usually clear history often when I'm done browsing and thats what kept triggering it. What threw me off though is that even when site references was checked off to be cleared, the sites that I had as "save password", would never keep asking me if I wanted to save or not. While only the ones that I clicked "never save" kept asking me if I want to save password every time I would log in. Why is it that only the ones that were clicked "never save" would not remember my preference while the ones that I clicked "save password" would?

Thanks cor-el that explains a lot! : )
