FireFox Pop-up blocker DOES NOT WORK!
This website time4tv.net relentlessly bombards me with popups and tries to install MacKeeper.
Just now it automatically downloaded a 126kb file called "Player.dmg" without my approval. I'm using Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 and FireFox 63.0.3 I have AdBlock Plus but it doesn't help!!!

Hello portnola,
Please don't blame Firefox - I'm afraid that you've somehow picked up some malware ......
See : https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-mackeeper-popup-ads/
Would you also read this article and run the malware scans that are listed there :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
Especially for Mac : https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/
Well said.

Did you run the malware scans as suggested ?

When you're on that site, click on the 'i' in a circle, next to the padlock at the left side of the address bar.
Then click on the little black arrow on the dropdown and then on "More Information", which will take you to "Page Info".
Click on the 'Permissions" tab and scroll down to "Open Pop-up Windows". Uncheck "Use Default" and check "Block".
Then close and restart Firefox.
As for that site trying to install MacKeeper : see my first post ....
I just did a fresh install of OS X High Sierra on a Mac Mini with FireFox 64 and it still does the same thing. Do you still think I have malware?
The only way to know for sure is to run the scans.

Based on your original post : yes, I do.
Have you tried any of the advice you've been given ?
I noticed that you started a new thread that seems to be about Firefox not blocking pop-ups :
Re pop-ups - please see :
https://www.askvg.com/tip-how-to-block-all-unwanted-website-pop-ups-in-mozilla-firefox/
And maybe you'd consider installing uBlock Origin :
