You may have a corrupted address book:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/996474#answer-561758
to add and delete is no problem. but I can not change address book contents. it's not saved.
Before trying the address book rebuild, run TB in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB, or Help/Restart with Add-ons Disabled) and see if the address book buttons work. I recall something like this a while ago where an outdated add-on caused this same problem.
thanks for your kindness. I launched in safe mode. but it still have a problem. (addons is disabled)
installed addons are the enigmail and XNote++ and it's not out of date and no plug-ins
I tried to launch as administrator mode but it's not solved too.
So, it's not due to an add-on, or a broken window layout (safe mode uses a default layout). Hard to figure out, but I notice you have a few address books. Is the OK button to close a contact window not working for all address books or only some?
I have 5 addresss book. and I found 5 *.mab files in profile directory.
all of them have same problems.
if I edit some field (e.g. edit name abc to abcd ) click ok button -> no action and edit window is not closed click cancel button -> edit window is closed, and name looks changed in list. but after closing and re-open address book. it's not changed
Create a new address book from File/New/Address Book and add a new test contact, then see if you can edit the contact and close the Properties window by clicking the OK button. You said that it's possible to add or delete contacts in the other books, just not edit an existing contact.
I created new Address book (newADDR : in attached image file) and try to add new test contact. but ok does not work. cancel button just close window.
I said new contact is added automatically when I send email to someone who is not in my address book.
I also try to copy some contact to newADDR by drag and drop. it's okay. I try to edit contact in newADDR. It happen same problem.
I also said "to add and delete is no problem." my fault. it's incorrect information
'add contact' is only possible automatically when I send email to someone who is not in my address book. 'delete contact' is possible in all address book (I tested)
The address book that stores contacts you send mail to, that aren't in your address book, is Collected Addresses. Since you can at least delete contacts from the other books, it suggests the mab files in the profile are not read-only. But I think it would be worth applying the rebuild process I cited in my first reply, at least for Personal Address Book, whose corresponding mab file is abook.mab.
Otherwise, I would create a test profile with Profile Manager and see if the address book works properly. To start PM, select Windowskey+R and type thunderbird.exe -p
rebuilding mab file is already done. but it does not solved the my problem.
I make new profile as you suggest. (show IMG file) and try to add new contact to personal address book. but it's same. not work
collecting mail is work. and I can move contact in collected address book to personal address book and try to change name. not work.
Is there any way to show TB's some log ?
You can try the Error Console under Tools/Developer Tools. but it often presents a lot of irrelevant info. I'm beginning to think there's some other program that is blocking access to editing the address books. Do you have any other program working in the background that is accessing the TB address book, such as a contact manager or security program? I'd be inclined to run in Windows safe mode to rule out any interference by other processes.
I found some error log. ( using error console as you said ) when i click 'ok' button Type Error is occurred (show attached image) it's javascript error in abCard.js:571:7 abCard.js 571 line is below
doc.getElementById(kVcardFields[i][0]).value);
and 'TypeError : this.chromeUtil...' is shown when I click '더 알아보기' which means 'show more'
please show attached image first.
after launching TB, I open browser console window. first two TypeError (green line) is shown (I do nothing but launch TB)
and I open address book window and open contact window then 3rd error (red line) is shown
and then I click 'OK' button in contact window, last error is shown
I'm unable to decipher the error messages, but there is an ancient bug that suggests the problem is due to a faulty localisation, i.e. Korean translation, of the address book. Why this would appear in the TB 60 update, I do not know. You could submit the details to Bugzilla (see below), including the error console pictures, and perhaps it will be noticed by someone with the necessary expertise. If you do, include a link to this discussion.
