How can I turn on/off individual trackers on a website?
I want to turn off all trackers on a website, except for the Intercom chat function. How do I do this?

You really can't some site requires that to work and if you block it the site sometimes doesn't work right. So is intercom chat a software or a site you use to chat? There is a give and take when you go to any website and if it requires like login or Amazon then you have to allow tracking for the feature to work.

Hi Westend, thank you for your response. I will sometimes want to use the Intercom chat function (which is a real-time help facility on a website). Unfortunately it is also a tracker, so when ff blocks trackers it blocks this feature. When I unblock to use it, then it means I will be tracked by several trackers from ggl, fb, etc. It seems a grave oversight by Mozilla not to allow individual tracker blocking selection. I do use Ghostery in conjunction with U-Block Origin & HTTP Everywhere, so hopefully I'll have the other trackers blocked by these protective softwares.
As to how those programs use trackers and cookies that isn't something firefox can change if they are needed to work on their site. And as you noted blocking them broke the site so that would mean you will have to live with the trackers and cookies.
I'm not sure you understand WestEnd. The site works just fine without the trackers operating, except the chat function doesn't operate. So the others trackers blocked & the chat tracker functioning is what I would prefer.
Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to add your input. Thank you.
I think Mozilla's goal was to provide a very simple-to-use feature. It wasn't intended to replace the fine-grained blocking/unblocking features of longstanding extensions like Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, NoScript, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, etc.
Firefox's Tracking Protection feature uses two lists from Disconnect which you can select between if you choose "Custom" under Content Blocking. That doesn't help if the Chat server's address is on both lists... I don't think there is a convenient way to alter or override those lists.
As I thought. Thanks for your response jscher.
