When I visit a website (for example https://old.reddit.com) and then browse for a bit the history will read something like " 2:30 AM https://goldbond.com 2:31 AM https://old.reddit.com 2:31 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/trashy/comments/bpstmu/does_this_belong_here/ 2:32 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/bptrg3/i_started_playing_detroit_become_human_but_im_new/ 2:34 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/BoneAppleTea/comments/bpxjuc/lemonade_these_papers/ " If I visit that same website (again https://old.reddit.com) then the history will read something like " 2:30 AM https://goldbond.com 2:31 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/trashy/comments/bpstmu/does_this_belong_here/ 2:32 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/bptrg3/i_started_playing_detroit_become_human_but_im_new/ 2:34 AM https://old.reddit.com/r/BoneAppleTea/comments/bpxjuc/lemonade_these_papers/ 2:34 AM https://old.reddit.com " The first visit to https://old.reddit.com disappears and there's no record of ANY previous visits.

That's the way the History Manager was programmed to work. There were add-ons that would change that, showing the full history, but it is not compatible with the current versions.

Firefox only shows the most recent visit of a website and hides earlier visits. These visits are still stored in places.sqlite.

You can look at this NirSoft utility.

I already knew that, it's obviously supposed to be a 'smart feature' based on the forum conversations from a decade+ ago. "Hey if you forget things, why shouldn't your computer?" If the sqlite database exposes the data, when are you going to include an option in about:config to fix it so some sketchy websites aren't used in an official 'support.mozilla.org' response.

Did you look at:

Otherwise you would have to use a SQLite manger application to inspect places.sqlite.

"The user will be able to select any date range and see when they visited each page. Actually showing which pages were visited during a given time period means we will have to store every time the user visits any page, rather than just the last visit time. This fixes some problems with the old history system where items would move around if you visited them again."

Where did the wanted functionality go over the broken functionality that still exist today?

I apologize for not addressing the Nirsoft thing. Why do you think that linking to some random website that has a program that claims to be free and does what you want it to do should be a thing you ever suggest as a representative of this platform? "We know which sites are good and which aren't" is a terrible response, btw.

Just give me a history view so I can see when I last viewed a website in relation to others.

If I went to A and then B, I shouldn't have to download, "Totally not a virus.exe" just to find that out.

My Library must be something special, for it shows every visit (time and date) I paid to every site .....

All I have to do is press Ctrl+Shift+H and do an aweful lot of scrolling down, but every visit is there.

I just checked : I first visited this thread (and many times the past hour or so, because "it got my attention") - my History shows that I first visited this thread : 5/18/19, 5.12 AM ......

If that, for some reason, doesn't happen for you (and other
users) - suggesting to try nirsoft.net (like cor-el did) : excellent idea, that has been appreciated by others.

Note that you can have multiple entries of a forum thread if there are new replies and you open the page with the last reply appended to the URL as an anchor (#answer-xxx). If the URLs differ then a new entry is created, if the URL is the same then the visit count is incremented. If the visit count is greater than one then only the last visit is shown.
