How do I get rid of a rogue calendar reminder message?

Every time I open Thunderbird I get a reminder message from an event originally in my Google calendar. I have to delete the reminder before I can do anything else. It is the same message every time. The original event has long since been deleted from the Google calendar, however the reminder keeps on popping up.

I don't think this is a Thunderbird issue since google calendar is the middleman in all this stuff. My suggestion would be to go to the source and correct/delete this issue in Google Calendar. That is the place that links all these calendars together so it might be the place that will unlink this reminder. good luck and best regards

Thank you, you were right! I didn't think it was the Google calendar at first because I had deleted the original event, but when I turned off all notifications in Google and synced my calendar, the problem was solved.

I have the same exact problem, but turning off notifications in Google did nothing.
