Now it doesn't, when I click "email link" . Now it says has to open with an application and only gives me google firefox as an option. or opens my folders. how do I get it back to opening with my outlook or primary email. I have the settings as recommended, but it still goes to this stupid think. I don't want to use google I want to it automatically open my primary email as it used to

Are you talking about using the Outlook(dot)com webmail service or the Outlook application installed on your computer?

If you are talking about the webmail service, that's never been supported in Firefox by default. Instead, you need to install an add-on to use Outlook as your default email service. Fortunately, I've made an add-on that does that and it can be downloaded at:

https://addons(dot)mozilla(dot)org/firefox/addon/outlook-com-mailto/

That you just need to go into the Firefox settings, scroll down to the Applications section and change the action for the mailto content type to Outlook.

Hope this helps.

NOTE: Due to a recent ban on posting links on this forum, I've had to replace any dots in the website link with "(dot)".

Thank you for responding. I mean that I use Oulook 10 on my computer, and want to use my email from there. So I believe that is the Oulook application? I'm not sure what webmail service means.

"Webmail service" just means that your email is on a website that you are logging into from your browser. In this case, you are indeed looking for the application.

If you go to the Firefox settings and scroll to the Applications section, you should see a mailto content type listed there. If you click the action drop-down menu, the Outlook app may be already listed there. If you don't see it, press the Use other option. If Outlook is still not listed there, press the Browse button and manually find the Outlook app on your computer.

If you aren't sure where you find the actually Outlook file on your computer, you can press the Start menu on Windows and find Outlook listed in the apps list. If you right click on it in there, you should have an Open file location option (might be in the More section).

That will open the folder that has that shortcut in it. If you right click on the shortcut that has been highlighted in that window, you should have the Open file location option there two. If you select that option, that should bring you to where Outlook is installed and you can use the file path listed in the Windows file explorer to find it in Firefox.
