After Firefox update to version 78.0.2 many functions do not work in Yahoo mail (Windows 10). Cannot select a message, cannot reply or forward, cannot go back to messages clicking the "back" arrow, cannot select the settings button. Yahoo mail works correctly in Chrome however. How to fix??

First, a common problem that users encounter with Yahoo! mail is that Yahoo changed their server. If you are using an old bookmark or old home page address to access your mail, try using this more general address so that if your server changed, you get redirected to the new servers:

https://mail.yahoo.com/

If that doesn't make any difference, here are some general things to try:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

Note: If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on yahoo.com, try either:

right-click the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
(menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then change the address at the top of that dialog from yahoo.com to mail.yahoo.com to see whether there are any additional cookies to clear.

Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does mail work?

If that doesn't help, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode. If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

   "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

thank you!
