My trash folder is suddenly missing. My email server is IMAP I went to File ---> Subscribe ---> there is NO trash folder to subscribe to. (I have closed and restarted thunderbird as well)

When I "delete" a message from my inbox, it does delete- I just cant find the trash folder it is going to.

Suggestions?

In Tools/Account Settings, Server Settings, what is the setting for 'When I delete a message'? Note that some services use Deleted or Deleted Items instead of 'Trash'.

Thank you for responding. Interestingly enough, this morning the deleted folder reappeared... I dont know what happened over night to cause this (I'd rebooted the program and computer previously with no helpful results.

answer to question below-------------------

Server setting says --- "to move it to the deleted folder " ... (screenshot attached)

UPDATE--- 2nd screen shot shows the deleted folder/trash folder has reappeared.

So this is solved, though unknown why it happened or how it resolved.

I have a similar problem to Patti.z68 ie Subscribe is empty. With one IMAP account there is only Inbox. I opened a separate IMAP email address and it only has Inbox and Trash.
