Thunderbird marking new messages as read
It seems after the latest upgrade that all incoming new messages are being marked as read. It's really a minor annoyance, but I would like them to not be marked as read. I have unchecked the box "Automatically mark messages as read" but it still is happening. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you use Bitdefender?
I am having the same issue. I'll close Thunderbird in the evening and switch off my computer. In the morning, I'll boot the computer and start Thunderbird. Several emails from the previous night will show up in my inbox, but they're all marked as Read (not in bold typeface). Thunderbird is the *only* app that collects email from that account - I do not have an email client on my phone or other device that accesses that account.
For me, this has been going on for many months. I do not use any 3rd party extensions, with the exception of Send Later.
Only my latest message is marked "read"
