BOOK MARKING
Please don't go technical on me. I read exactly how to bookmark a website. I understand how to create folders. What I'm lost about is how do I create a folder in my toolbar, and not see the website in the menu? I have tried to put a saved site in a toolbar folder, then delete it from the drop-down menu, but once it is deleted the toolbar folder is empty. The folder I created still exist though.
Then I tried to create a folder and put it in the Toolbar. In the drop down menu I left specific websites.
When I closed the browser everything was gone from the folders and the drop down menu.
All I need it to create folders in the Toolbar area. Leave "non-duplicated" sites in the drop down menu. I just don't need to loose everything again, I spent hours doing this, I'm thankful I was able to do a recovery, except it was the last date I used days ago.
Again, this is what I need, not how yours is.
Thanks

Did you try this in the sidebar (Ctrl+B) ?
If you use Sync, best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.
This could be a problem with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
- use the "Places Database" -> "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.
If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
- you lose the history when a new places.sqlite is created
You may have to restore an older bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder via the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
- Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).

"Please don't go technical on me."
Reading through the eyes = listening through our ears = the information in my message to the brain needing a response.
Getting it done = understood = your problem solved... here's my fix... hmm... possible problem you have still exist
Getting it done = understanding = maybe my fix for your problem solved... here's a possible fix that works for me... hmm...
My problem still exist... perhaps another could read what I wrote... to understand what my problem is... I am open to providing more information if needed... I know what I mean via what I wrote, I am clueless when it comes to technical programming language you know the meaning of.
Let's work on a fix to my problem together... THX for responding thought... obviously you are trying to help the best way you know how, only I need to understand what exactly are you saying to me regarding my problem.
PLEASE NO CNTRL +++++++
I womanly put my information in, I'm not very pro letting a machine do all my thinking.
Ok,
Homepage
Bookmarks Toolbar (the top of the page), I need the websites I use on occasions here. Some of my websites are in tabs, 4 rows (I selected this). Some of these are also in the Menus and Toolbar. I don’t need them in all three. Just here. I can do whatever I want in the other two areas, these are still showing.
Open Application Menu (the three horizontal bars)
Bookmarks
Recent Bookmarks
STOP: All I am trying to do is have some, not all my websites I need to save here for immediate access.
Manage Bookmarks
Library page opens
ALL Bookmarks
Bookmarks Toolbar (I believe this is the one at the top of the homepage)
Bookmarks Menu (I believe this is the one on the homepage, under “Recent”)
ALL I care about are these two per me creating folders in each:
I have successfully created folders for each of these.
When I put a website in the TOOL BAR, let’s say TEST FOLDER, it is there.
But, if I now go to the MENU
RECENT BOOKMARKS to delete the same website, it is no gone from both the TOOL BAR TEST
FOLDER and the MENU RECENT BOOKMARKS.
When I put a website in the MENU
RECENT BOOKMARKS, let’s say TEST2 FOLDER, it is there.
But, if I now go to the TOOL BAR to delete the same website, it is no gone from both the TOOL BAR TEST FOLDER and the MENU RECENT BOOKMARKS.
Even when I have created folders in the MENU RECENT BOOKMARKS and THE TOOLBAR, if I see a duplicate and delete it from either, everything disappears.
I’m frustrated, Mozilla was never this difficult. It seems like too many… every update just infest the whole program’s abilities. I’m also tired of searching with my preferred search engine, Google and repeatedly being asked if I want to sign in to my account and/or allow my location for Google.
Recent Bookmarks shows the result of a query and bookmarks you see in this list can be in any folder, so do not get confused. Only a list like in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or in the sidebar or in a menu drop-down list (Bookmarks menu or the Bookmarks Menu toolbar button list) shows the real location of a bookmark, so you can have doubles as those menus also show the Bookmarks Toolbar folder and the Other Bookmarks folder apart from the Bookmarks Menu folder.
THX
I dislike I don't have the option to just reply, vice a thumbs down.
First, thank you for "Tech N" it down for me. I tried to use language I believe you are more familiar with.
OK...
So, the one area "Recents" is not the MENU area shown on the Library Page.
So, I have the option to hmm... let it ride... or turn that view off. Thus, all my sites would be in the top TOOLBAR area in folders I create???
If this is correct, please just a yes.
If this is correct, do I have to write the ones in there down, delete them, go back to each one and now bookmark each in the folders, as I deem relevant, I created in the TOOLBAR.
Then all will be clear in the MENU Recents, except now my folders will also show in this area and the TOOLBAR?
Or can I close one of them so my folders only show in one?
Also, if I go to say Folder TEST, select a site, go there, go back to the home page...
Will that site go back to the folder I had it in, or go there + now is showing in the Recents area again?
If it does, how do I get rid of it, I don't need a site everywhere. I just don't want to see it, delete it, and now it's gone from the original folder I created.
I think I have to choose which area to put my folders, put my sites in the folders I choose to be appropriate, then close one or the other MENU or TOOLBAR.
Fire Fox use to be so much easier.
Oh, can you explain why I go on a search using Google Search Engine, after about 2 selections to view the information, I keep getting asked if I want to allow my location.
This gets kinda old sense it's Google asking me repeatedly.
No means No.
Again, THX
I always take time to use my voice my concerns in private, praise in public!
I need to thank you, I hope this goes public. Your willingness to work with vice against fixing my problem helped me to remember "old school" Fire Fox.
I recalled how I set up my home page to ease the frustrations of finding websites so very important to me.
Last night I thought about your last reply, and I remembered exactly where I went in my home page...
THANKS FOR JUST LISTENING... I SET MY HOME PAGE UP... NOW I AM A STRESS FREE CUSTOMER... USER OF FIRE FOX AS MY PREFERRED BROWSER!
You can get a view in the Library that is the same as the recent list if you type a space character in the search bar at the top of the Library window and sort the list by "Added" and order by "Z>A" via the "Views -> Sort" menu.
You will see bookmarks listed in the recent list as long as there are bookmarks left, so do not make changes in this list apart from possibly changing properties like the name. If you delete a bookmark in this list then you delete the actual bookmark stored in one of the bookmarks folders.
In Firefox 96+ you can right-click a bookmark search/query/recent result list and click "Show in Folder" to locate this bookmark in the folder list in the sidebar.
