Contacts
Hello,
So I have Thunderbird which came with my Mint 22 install. My issue is that I imported my contacts (cvs) from Outlook into my personal contact folder. However, when I try to compose an email it can't seem to find the person I'm looking to message. I set my personal folder as default but it still won't work. I love Thunderbird but if it's going to be a problem sending emails then it's useless to me. Can someone please help me with this.
Kind Regards,
Bruce

when you view the addressbook, does it look satisfactory? That is, if you click an address to update, do the components all appear as expected? I ask that because a common problem with csv uploads is that they are often done but not to the correct fields. Tell us more about the content and I think we may be able to advise.
No they are kinda messed up. For example, the email address is listed under phone number and the names show the last name first and I prefer the first name first. Can I reinstall (import) and if so, what should I change, look out for. Thanks much for your reply.......

Also, in looking thru Thunderbird add-ons I noticed "Outlook Address Book Enabler" how exactly does that work and would that resolve my issue with contacts?
here are my thoughts: - delete all contacts in addressbook - manually create one or two valid accounts - export a csv from thunderbird, this gives you a template so that you know how thunderbird wants csv organized. - if you have a spreadsheet program, that is easiest way to view the layout. remember, the top row usually as names of the columns - now, load your csv into the spreadsheet and modify as necessary to mirror the thunderbird layout, keeping the same top row - now, save the updated csv and import that, and then view the addressbook to verify contents
Yeah that worked. Thanks for all ur help David.
