Firefox itself doesn't install any extensions or toolbars by default. If you have installed other software then it is possible that they add such add-ons.
If you have AVG software then see: AVG Antivirus and Security Software - AVG Security Toolbar Help New Tab Search
I pay for Webroot, no AVG on my machine. I have added extensions, but if this is a risk that is involved with using the browser, I'm deleting it. I am already upset that so much software tried to sneak in Yahoo tool bars y default, I have zero tolerance for this crap.
My policy on that is to do without that sort of software that tries to get me to click through to install the Yahoo garbage no matter how much I wanted or needed it.
I won't use Yahoo because of this "the end user is stupid and we are aggressive" approach they have to spreading their presence on the Internet.
Thanks for the info, now if you will excuse me I hav a browser to delete.
Your list of plugins shows the Yahoo Application State Plugin version 1.0.0.7. This plugin is installed along with Yahoo Messenger. To remove the plugin, see the instructions here, Firefox crashes when using Yahoo Mail or here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes#Yahoo.21_Application...
